Larry Furr, owner of Larry Furr Presents Southern Theater & Event Center, endeavors to reflect Christ's spirit of giving by holding charitable fundraising events for the truly needy in our community. 100% of all fundraising proceeds go to the charity, with funds raised being applied directly to the medical bills, housing, or food purchases of the persons in need. Fundraising cash is never given directly to the persons being helped.

Tax-deductible donations can be made payable to the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, who will direct donations to persons in need, or to church missions.

Here are a couple of examples of how Larry has used the Event Center as an instrument of the Lord to help those in need:

Classic Family Restaurant
When fire destroyed the Classic Family Restaurant in Denton in December of 2016, Larry knew what he must do. He picked up the phone and called several bands to come and perform to raise money for the many employees who were suddenly out of a job. Thanks to Larry and the good will of several musical artists, no employee of The Classic missed a paycheck for three months, including the holiday season. 

The Father's Storehouse
April 9, the Collegiates performed a benefit concert at Larry Furr Presents Southern Theater & Event Center to raise much needed assistance for their Thomasville ministry. 100% of all proceeds went to the ministry.
